    A Better Alternative

Everyone knows that Paypal is the most widely used payment processor worldwide. However, I've read a lot of reviews online that Paypal has unreasonable rules that often result to a member's account being limited or worse, frozen. I only have Paypal as my payment processor so I'm starting to get worried.

Having said that, I want to hear your experiences with other payment processors. I know there are several others but which is the better alternative?

All opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, paypal is notorious for trying to keep your money some way, some how. Paypal has overdrawn my checking account for the last time. I even had to close my checking account and open a new one. I have recently started using alert pay. So far so good. Even Microworkers stopped using paypal.

I would like to find a new alternative as well. It's such a shame that most places pay you ONLY through PayPal. I had my PayPal account limited because I was scammed by a buyer who did a charge back. I had Googled his user name, and saw that he had scammed several others as well, and paypal still did nothing about it.

I have been using Paypal for two years and I am thankful that I do not have problem from them yet. And hope that I will never have problem from them since I use my Paypal account for almost all of my transactions online.
I also have Alertpay and had tried libertyreserve. My Libertyreserve is not yet active since I had never used it on any transaction, I just tried having an account. I had used my Alertpay account in some transaction and I could say that they are not that strict compared to Paypal although the fees are much higher.

How can a well-known and "trusted" company such as Paypal get away with these things? Times like these, every cent counts and having your hard-earned money somehow taken away from you is inexcusable.

Off topic. I just started doing tasks at Microworkers Pam. Do they really pay?

I guess I better create an account with Alert Pay soon. Suddenly, the thought of having my money with Paypal feels as horrible as leaving your child alone in a park full of strangers.

    Thanks for your responses guys!

I've used Paypal for 5 years and only had a problem once. It was because I wasn't using it for a long period of time and then used it for a transaction of about $200. It makes sense though, someone could've stolen my account information while I wasn't paying attention so I'm glad they did freeze it. They cleared it up as soon as I called though so I didn't really worry.

I'm worried now though, reading this post because I depend on Paypal heavily and if they're becoming troublesome to use, I guess I need to look into Alert Pay.

I've used Alertpay a few times before and it's quick and efficient.
The only problem with Alertpay that I see is that it's not that widely used yet. PayPal is still the choice of most websites and stores, so it's the processor I use.

Maybe these negative feed backs about Paypal are just isolated incidents. You're lucky you haven't had problems with them yet andthey saved your account too. But just to be sure, its wiser to look into alternatives.

Is it true that Alertpay has higher charges? How long have you been registered with them?

I would definately recommend paypal over any payment processors. I have never had any problems with paypal. alert pay on the other hand charges you to do everything. Even a fee to put your money in yout own account. Paypal is security conscience. They hold money because of fraudulent sellers, buyers whatever you may be, to protect you. Alot of paypal users are not verified and if large amounts are applied to your account it's a red flag. I have a paypal debit card and I love it. I sell on ebay and have never had any problems. If you are buying or someone is buying from you make sure there account is verified. Paypal protects you!

I personally feel like we're getting off-topic here. This thread wasn't started to say why you like PayPal, but to find the best alternative(s) for a payment processor OTHER than PayPal. From what I've heard, it does seem like Alert Pay is the next best thing.

What I'm curious about is if anyone has had experience using Liberty Reserve, MoneyBookers, or any other processors and what their pros/cons are.
